DEE GOLD MINING CO. NEVADA 1984
The Dee Gold Mine in Elko County, Nevada, was discovered in 1980 by Whit Delamare, an employee of Cordex Exploration Co. In 1982, a feasibility study was commissioned, and in 1983, the decision to start production was made. The mine began producing mill-grade ore in 1984, and a heap leaching operation for lower-grade ore commenced on June 1, 1985. In the 1980s, it was owned by the Cordex Syndicate, with stakeholders including Rayrock Yellowknife Resources (44%), International Corona Corp. (44%), and John S. Livermore (12%). The mine had a small output. Ownership changed to Glamis Gold, Ltd. in 2002, and its last year of production was in 2001. Source

Dodecagon (12 sided)
On June 24, 1983, an extravagant grand opening celebration marked the inception of Johnson Matthey in Rochester. However, this event was followed by a significant turn of events later that year. Johnson Matthey's banking and gold-trading division, Johnson Matthey Bankers Ltd, suffered a catastrophic collapse on September 30, 1984, less than a year after the notorious Brink's-Mat robbery. During this audacious heist, a staggering £26 million worth of gold bullion, diamonds, and cash were pilfered from a Brink's-Mat warehouse. Notably, the purloined bullion belonged to Johnson Matthey Bankers Ltd, and to this day, most of the gold remains unrecovered. Source
